Wisdom tooth removal

Wisdom teeth often grow incorrectly: they push on neighbouring teeth, get inflamed and make cleaning difficult. Our surgeons remove them gently — under local anaesthesia or sedation.

When it is removed

  • The tooth grows at an angle or cannot erupt.
  • The gum over the tooth is inflamed and painful.
  • The tooth affects neighbouring teeth or orthodontic treatment.

How it works

  • Examination and an X-ray — we have our own X-ray and 3D CT.
  • Removal under anaesthesia; for complex cases or anxiety — under sedation.
  • Aftercare advice and a follow-up check.

Frequently asked questions

Does wisdom tooth removal hurt?

It is done under anaesthesia, so there is no pain during the procedure. Sedation is available.

Do all wisdom teeth need to be removed?

No. A healthy, well-positioned tooth does not need removing — the doctor decides from the X-ray.

How long does healing take?

Usually a few days; the doctor will explain how to care for it so everything goes smoothly.
